USA TODAY BESTSELLER!Sparks fly when an occult expert and a disgraced archeologist become enemies-with-benefits in this steamy romance from "go-to author" Rosie Danan (The New York Times Book Review). Riley Rhodes finally has the chance to turn her family’s knack for the supernatural into a legitimate business when she’s hired to break the curse on an infamous Scottish castle. Used to working alone in her alienating occupation, she's pleasantly surprised to meet a handsome stranger upon arrival—until he tries to get her fired. Fresh off a professional scandal, Clark Edgeware can’t allow a self-proclaimed “curse breaker” to threaten his last chance for redemption. After he fails to get Riley kicked off his survey site, he vows to avoid her. Unfortunately for him, she vows to get even. Riley expects the curse to do her dirty work by driving Clark away, but instead, they keep finding themselves in close proximity. Too close. Turns out, the only thing they do better than fight is fool around. If they’re not careful, by the end of all this, more than the castle will end up in ruins.

"Spoilers
The first half was a fun quick read but I really didnt like how when Riley tried to "make her enemy leave" the author/characters in the book acted like it didnt really affect them. Like, the very next day hes picking onions out of her salad for her. It honestly kind of ruined the rest of the book for me. I did like the general idea of the book, just not that part. "
"This book was entertaining form the first page to the last page. It's an enemies to lovers between Riley (FMC) an American curse breaker and Clark (MMC) an English archaeologist. They are in a forced proximity due to both working at Arden Castle in Scotland. Do Your Worst has great descriptive details, mystery, banter, betrayal, and two enemies who try their best to hate each other with medium spice. Do Your Worst has made its way to one of my top favorite reads of they year! Definitely a must read!"
"DNF @ 55%

Riley is the most unlikeable female lead. At first, I thought I was just in a reading rut, but no. It’s this character. I hate her. i was so, so excited about this book, but it was so unenjoyable, that I'm putting Rosie Danan on my permanent do not read list.

also, the end is just so obvious, bffr."
"2.75 Stars Rounded to 3
Cover 2 Stars

WWTQ: Are you sure you know what you're doing?
Answer: Probably not.

This isn't what I expected. I was thinking witchy vibes in the Scottish Highlands, lost secrets, celtic mythology. It's not that. It's really more two ***** people in an airstream.

I still don't know if there was a curse or if Riley is an actual curse breaker or a dillusional bartender. I'm thinking the latter. Presumably she's amazing at her job if they imported her from New Jersey. No one wants anything from New Jersey. I'd assume Scotland to be full of mystic types and witchy-woo-woo stuff, so that they needed an American suggests she has some sort of expertise, but she gets there and is pretty much useless except for a slightly enhanced sense of smell. Clark, too seems an odd choice. He clearly didn't pay attention in archeology school. He really doesn't understand his job all that well.

But setting the practicalities aside, I didn't believe these people would be anything more than colleagues and I'm going to say it, Clark's dad was right. You make up a discovery, you're going to get shunned in the scientific community, or get a movie made about you. Or both.

The TL:DR is that this was just not for me. This was light on character and plotting, heavy on the romance (braiding her hair, and baths, and honestly it gave me the icks so I skimmed) aspect which my cold black heart finds cringy."
"What I Liked:
1. The curse breaking - the premise of this is super cool and such a unique idea and I thought it was really well done. I liked that fact this was something that Riley learned and practiced from her Gran and actually tried to give it some validity. I also think the story/detail behind the castle was super interesting. If the curse itself was boring, I think this wouldn’t have been as exciting. Then the actual curse breaking was fun. I liked that Riley was able to find things Clark couldn’t multiple times throughout the book BUT it wasn’t so easy where everything she did was perfect/flawless.

2. Clark standing up to his dad - Always feeling second best or ignored clearly bothered Clark. So seeing him grow and stand up to his father was extremely satisfying.

3. Enemies to lovers - this was well done if you ask me! Clearly they have chemistry but the difference in opinions around the castle causing them to be enemies makes sense. Since they already had the mutual attraction from the beginning AND knowing that there’s a bit of a built-in timeline (aka they’re only together as long as they’re working on the castle), I didn’t mind how quickly they went from enemies to lovers. Some things that also helped the transition were that Clark became more open minded about curse breaking and I don’t think Riley ever really hated Clark.

What I Didn’t Like:
1. Some of the jabs they took at each other were a little too intense - I know it was meant to be banter but I don’t think it landed super well but that’s pretty minor"
