She knew a thing or two about the magic of writing, and how words have the power to make you see things differently. In her will, Aunt Helen leaves Lottie a series of letters—each containing mysterious instructions. As Lottie sets about following them, she realizes they’re meant to make her take a risk, and, for once in her life, really live. "“They help with everything. Books can make you live a thousand lifetimes, a thousand different lives. Books make you immortal.”
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This book was the equivalent of a breath of fresh air. The overall theme of dealing with loss was dealt with in such a captivating manner; the use of such raw and emotional letters really helped to carry the story along and mirror the plot. Lottie herself was such a relatable character as she wasn’t perfect or even striving for such, but instead she was an anxious bookworm just hoping to find out what it means to truly live and not just go through the motions everyday. While I really didn’t care for the plot twist towards the end of the story, it happened late enough that I was still able to enjoy the overall growth and journey of the rest of the characters."
