On a grand canvas reminiscent of Guillermo del Torro and Justin Cronin, acclaimed author Craig DiLouie presents "a terrifying novel filled with impossible decisions [and] a stark, brutal, and chilling vision of the end of days" (David Moody, author of Hater).SO MANY MOUTHS TO FEEDIt begins on an ordinary day: children around the world are dying. All children, everywhere—a global crisis beyond any parent’s worst nightmare. Then, a miracle beyond imagining: three days later, they return. Shattered mothers and fathers see their sons and daughters happy and whole once more, playing and laughing as before—but only when they feed. They hunger for blood…and they can’t get enough upon which to feast. Without it, they die again. How far would you go to keep someone you love alive?

"This book just left me confused beyond belief. While I do like the concept, the negatives of this book was override the positive. I wouldn't recommend this book unless the person reading it doesn't like children "

"This is a really great take on an apocalypse that affects children who haven’t reached puberty. Herod syndrome causes all children worldwide to drop dead in their tracks. As adults are forced to deal with the mass casualty by burying the bodies, they find that days later the children come alive again, but they are not experiencing any life function and stare into a void. However, the children can come back to normal by drinking blood. A pint only lasting a short period of time and then they fall back into a dead state. Now the adults who want to keep their kids alive need to find ways to get blood to their children. They begin by giving their own blood, but as that becomes not an option, the adults use any means possible. But the kids as they come back from a lifeless state start changing. Their personalities become mean and vicious. In the end, people passed puberty become live food and so the apocalypse begins. <br/>I actually enjoyed this book. I listened to the audio and did enjoy the narrator but, and this could be just me, I start to zone out as the narrators voice becomes a bit monotonous. Overall, a great story"
