"Oh BROTHERRRRRR. I was really looking forward to this book, but it just fell flat. I was hours into it before it felt like things were actually happening, and even then I couldn’t bring myself to care about it. The few times I was hooked in, I lost interest again not too long after. I never felt like the book actually started, and it always felt like someone was reading to me or I was reading over someone’s shoulder, not that I was reading myself. And the language, the fluidity of the words and the subject matter just comes off as so pretentiously written, it may be awhile before I try another one off this author’s backlist. The parts that did get my attention I enjoyed, though. But overall I was so incredibly bored and that’s disappointing."
