"Very disappointed because I’ve loved all of Elizabeth Acevedo’s other books. When I saw she was coming out with a multigenerational story, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. Unfortunately for me, I felt like the story dragged on for way too long… This story was about events that were to happen in the span of 3 days, and yet it felt like it was SO MUCH LONGER THAN THAT!
If you’re into character-driven + descriptive novels, this might be the one for you. Personally for me, I didn’t enjoy it as the pace was very slow and I couldn’t grasp the plot."
