"Wow, what a whirlwind. Honestly, pretty solid read. The characters are fleshed out in my opinion, even the ones the are more background characters. I know enough about them but not too much that it’s excessive. The premise is very Zuko restore his honor and I don’t hate it. I don’t think it ruins the story. The ending chapters could be seen as rushed a bit. I think the pacing wasn’t too rushed like other books. It was just enough and straight forward which personally when I got to those chapters, I really needed. Overall, I enjoyed this book. I was entertained, interested, and had fun reading. I appreciate that even though the themes and issues are pretty heavy, the book still had a bit of lightheartedness to it; most likely due to the writing style and the switching POVs. Solid 4 stars for me."
"Really interesting world with characters that made you like them but never love them. Shows a lot of promise especially for a debut, but for some reason I didn’t feel comfortable or settled in the story at any point. I felt like a spectator the whole time. Basically, this book was technically good but it never made me care."
