"Story:3 stars
Images: 5 stars

I've always liked the Aesop's The Lion and the Mouse, but I'm not fan of this wordless version. The images are gorgeous, and I might have been okay since if you used the book for story time you can always add in the dialogue, but I was confused about the ending. Did the mouse bring home the knot as a souvenir? Why does she look so shocked that her baby mice are by it? Am I overthinking a picture book? Yes, yes I am.

"
