"This is a love story where the timing isn’t always right, but the love/chemistry is strong. The storyline takes you through present and past as you follow their relationship. The author left little cliffhangers from present to past and back. Because of this I didn’t want to put this book down and read it extremely fast. This is a military romance with many heavy topics, but written in a “light” way. Overall, I enjoyed it! "
"This book really captures the struggles of being in a relationship/situationship with someone in the military who is in active duty. Waiting for a true shot with long distance. It reminded me I’m glad to not be in those shoes anymore and really appreciate those who take their shot at making it work. "
"Well I’m officially on the Rebecca Yarros train and I’ll be here for the long haul. I loved this and it truthfully surprised me. First off, I don’t typically read stories featuring people in the military (at least outside of historical novels where is part of the time period) because growing up where I did, I heard enough of it in real life. There is something to be said in not wanting to romanticize that which is truly devastating.

I also make it a point to not read trendy novels because 90% of it’s hype and no substance. The Fourth Wing caught my eye but I felt like the true testament would be to read the author’s latest before a lot of reviews or media about it came out and assess it for myself.

Well, despite these major things working against the book, I really enjoyed the hell out of it. Do I regret reading this on a plane while sitting in the exit row? YES. But that’s the only regret I have, and considering I’m fine, I can live with that.

Now I really will go read The Fourth Wing, hopefully it’s as good as this one was!"
