"This is a remake of The Fox's Summer (2017) I am not sure if there are other remakes or if this is based on a book. Didn't realize it was a remake until part way into the first episode. So I will be comparing this 2022 to the 2017 version as I have not seen or read any other versions. This is a shorter version by far, it skips over a few things, and changes others that actually shortens the story drastically. Even with a shorten story they have 20 eps and 2017 had only 21 eps, I am not sure where that space was used as I didn't feel I got anymore background.
Pro's: It makes more sense that he is the actual grandson vs a convoluted, hit and run scenario of 2017. I liked this FL sooooo much more. FL when she is messing/breaks his health scanner is much more realistic and understandable. I liked the sister's dynamic more, it makes more sense in this one when they do start to get along.
Con's: FL and 2nd ML meeting over seas? then why does the Sister have such a grudge and like the 2ML? 2017 they all met in high school so that part of the story makes more sense. I really missed FL being fired, then rehired by grandma, which this one it would have made more sense as she was working overseas. Neighbor, to live in an upscale place by himself? what was his background? I definitely liked the 2017 neighbor.
N/A's: Brother of the sisters missing? It doesn't bother me one way or the other that one show had him, another didn't, his part wasn't large.
Over all, it was ok, but I think if I want to watch this show again, I will go with 2017 as I laughed more often."
