"⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ One of the most raw and brutal out of all the period pieces I've seen yet it has so much heart. The first episode sets up the setting, tone, characters, and themes impeccably well, and the fairly good historical accuracy makes the story all the more authentic (the words "stays" and "shift" are actually used). While seasons one and two are easily better than season three, the writing is a bit formulaic throughout, as others have pointed out, but it's by no means bad. The highlight of this show is definitely the cast of characters, which is very diverse and filled with people who are very flawed, sympathetic, and human. (Also, I'm in the camp that actually likes the soundtrack because, yeah, it's modern sounding but it fits the tone of the show perfectly and period accurate music would heavily clash with what's on screen.)"

"Literally my favorite show of all time the plot is so well written and they ended it at the right time instead of dragging it out too long they also conclude every single story line and don’t leave you hanging in the end. It’s definitely racey and some scenes can be hard to watch so I don’t recommend it for everyone but if you like period dramas you seriously need to add this to your watch list!"
