"Despite my dislike one can not overstate the influence that DBZ had on the US anime fandom. Itโs a hard to rewatch because the serial escalation of it all. Power-ups that only a select few can wield leading to the rest of cast getting sidelined. Even the powerups barely go beyond move faster, punch harder, shoot energy blasts eliminating the marital arts setup of DB. But even with those gripes, many scenes are nostalgic not just for me but for fans all over the world. Watch or read DB first though. "
