A bet turned into a disaster.Sebastian Weaver is the star quarterback and the college's heartthrob.Rich. Handsome. Bastard.Everyone's attention flocked toward him and all the girls dreamed to be with him.Not me.At least, not until he made a move on me.See, I thought I was stronger than Sebastian's charms.I thought I could survive being his target.I thought wrong.Little did I know that he will make my most twisted fantasies come true.Fantasies I didn't know existed...Red Thorns is a dark new adult book that contains dubious situations some readers might find offensive and/or triggering. This is part of a duet and is not standalone.

"Oh God! I hope Rina Kent NEVER writes a black heroine.

The way this author is making this heroine's "asian-ness" this big ass deal in this book, makes me soooo uncomfortable. Like, why can't she just write an Asian heroine the same way she writes her billions of white heroine? I'm so uncomfortable...

Please, I beg you authors to write heroines of races other than White as casually as you write white heroines. And stop making "racism" a plot point in the book whenever the heroine is not white.

This felt fetishy and weird.

Maybe sensitivity readers are a good thing, after all. Rina Kent should have hired some.

I also want to let authors know that ppl's special sexual preferences and kinks have nothing to do with equal gender rights.

I'm saying this because there's a scene in this book where Naomi was doubting her "feminism" because of how she likes Sébastien's superior height...?

Huh?

What does liking a tall person have to do with gender equality...?

I'm so confused and uncomfortable.

Okay, so here's the other issue: Naomi and Sébastien have noooooo chemistry.

You can add all the sex scenes and all the depraved kinks you want in your book, but if you did no work in building a chemistry between your 2 leads, then you wasted all of that."
