Valerie's sister was beautiful, kind, and sweet. Now she is dead. Henri, the handsome son of the blacksmith, tries to console Valerie, but her wild heart beats fast for another: the outcast woodcutter, Peter, who offers Valerie another life far from home. After her sister's violent death, Valerie's world begins to spiral out of control. For generations, the werewolf has been kept at bay with a monthly sacrifice. But no one is safe. When an expert wolf hunter arrives, the villagers learn that the creature lives among them - it could be anyone in town. It soon becomes clear that Valerie is the only one who can hear the voice of creature. The Wolf says she must surrender herself before the Blood Moon wanes . . . or everyone she loves will die. This is a dangerous new vision of a classic fairy tale, and for readers who want even more of Valerie's riveting story, a bonus chapter that extends the drama is available at http://www.redridinghoodbook.com/.

"1.75

This book, although enchanting and mysterious at times, was a struggle to get through.

Part I liked:
I thought the plot had a lot of potential and was captivating.

Complaint 1: Valerie

The main character Valerie was so irritating. She had an extreme character change for the worse throughout the book. I couldn't stand her.

Complaint 2: Writing

The writing occasionally switched from Valerie's point of view to someone else's. When this did happen, it was very hard to tell who it was because it was not consistently written.

Complaint 3: Relationships

Any relationship -- romantic or platonic-- in the book was either confusing or very unhealthy.

Complaint 4: There was no ending

The book just dropped off with a link to a website. There was no resolution. It felt like the last ten chapters were missing because how abrupt it cut off."
"Not my favorite manly because I had to go online to find the last chapter. I’m not sure if it was just my book or if it was everyone’s"
