"Pros:
- extremely enjoyable and engrossing (ESPECIALLY for a Kindle Unlimited free read and listen!)
- fast paced
- excellent characters
- law officer that isn't a lazy moron, is actually pretty good at their job, and is only a little bit of a bigot
- the most realistic and unique portrayal of a completely normal person with a normal life and a normal family becoming a vampire and having to deal with it that I have ever run across
- I didn't see the twist until right before the protagonist figured it out
Cons:
- not exactly Insta Love but they had all of three conversations before the "L" word came up
--- once the L word cropped up, more sappiness did too
- things got a wee bit preachy, especially regarding the supernatural and whether they still counted as human or were greater than/less than the humans they once were.
All in all, way more Pros than Cons and I was extremely happy to learn that there are already 20+ books and short stories published in this universe to look forward to!"
"I was skeptical about these books, but considering I got the first four Vampire for Hire series on my Kindle for only $2.99, I went ahead and downloaded them. I was pleasantly surprised at how entertaining the book was! I read Moon Dance in three days, and had I not had so many pesky interruptions, i.e. housework, children, sleeping, etc., I would have read it much quicker! Very excited to read the rest of the series, as well as some of J.R. Rains’ other books!"
