Entered by a thousand unsuspected gateways - built by a race lost in the clouds of time - Well World transforms creatures of any sort into different forms. So, spacefarer Nathan Brazil is not surprised to find himself accompanied by a batman, an amorous female centaur and a mermaid as he sets out on his strange mission. Yet Nathan Brazil's own metamorphosis is more terrifying than any of the others - and with the gradual return of his memory comes the secret of the Well World.

"This one is weird. Originally published in 1977, it is so weird that if anyone actually sees this and wants the full weird review, you will have to go into Goodreads and see if you can unbury my 2016 review referencing modeling clay and playdough as a method of weirdness metaphor.
"...swirls of sci fi and fantasy looping over and under and around each other until it's a confused but attractive mess that is impossible to separate; all you can do is keep squishing and rolling and mixing [the blue and red clay] until suddenly you have purple and things kind of make sense again.""
