Becky Albertalli
With humor and insight, #1 New York Times bestseller Becky Albertalli explores the nuances of sexuality, identity, and friendship in this timely new novel.Imogen Scott may be hopelessly heterosexual, but she's got the World's Greatest Ally title locked down. She's never missed a Pride Alliance meeting. She knows more about queer media discourse than her very queer little sister. She even has two queer best friends. There's Gretchen, a fellow high school senior, who helps keep Imogen's biases in check. And then there's Lili--newly out and newly thriving with a cool new squad of queer college friends.Imogen's thrilled for Lili. Any ally would be. And now that she's finally visiting Lili on campus, she's bringing her ally A game. Any support Lili needs, Imogen's all in.Even if that means bending the truth, just a little.Like when Lili drops a tiny queer bombshell: she's told all her college friends that Imogen and Lili used to date. And none of them know that Imogen is a raging hetero--not even Lili's best friend, Tessa.Of course, the more time Imogen spends with chaotic, freckle-faced Tessa, the more she starts to wonder if her truth was ever all that straight to begin with. . .

"i love love LOVE this book!!! i had really low expectations, since i feel like im past the point in my life where coming out is a big deal, HOWEVER it was sooooo good. i loved every bit of it, it wasn’t too intense and it wasn’t too childish. it was perfect! i highly highly recommend even if coming out stories aren’t really your thing"
"This is a super quick read. Cute. Queer. Hits on a lot of modern discourse in and surrounding the community. Unfortunately, this was not the book for me. I think a lot of queer and questioning folks could benefit and enjoy reading this. Unfortunately, I found this story bogged down in mundane details that didn't move the story forward, with a cast of mostly forgettable characters. A lot felt like it was packed into the final act without a good enough payoff. The pink cover is so cute, though!"
"3.7 stars. I adored Imogen. It was interesting to hear the perspective of an ally in a pride group and the inner thoughts of a questioning queer. It was insightful to listen to a queer bully like Gretchen bully other queers and question their queerness. There are a lot of texts between characters in this book that might be easier to follow in a written book than listen to in the audiobook. I would have liked to have gotten to know more of the stories of the friends and what their journeys were like. "
"adorable, love, great. book that features bi-awakening and the reality of biphobia"

"I don’t even know how to properly put words together to explain all of my feelings about this book, all I know is that I absolutely loved it! Am I surprised? No, I’m literally loved every single thing Becky has released but this one just feels so special in so many ways! I’ll end up posting a full review once I get my journal spread put together but for now, I’ll just say that this book is a must read and I truly feel privileged to have been able to be in Imogen’s head and Becky’s heart for the time I was reading it"
"This has become one of my favorite books. I related so hard to this story that it hurt sometimes. I found myself burning through it in only a couple of days, which is very uncommon for me. It hit hard emotionally. One moment I was squealing gleefully, the next I was white knuckled and angry for the main character. Imogen as a character has my heart and must be protected."
