From #1 New York Times bestselling author Jennifer L. Armentrout comes book three in her beloved Flesh and Fire series...The only thing that can save the realms now is the one thing more powerful than the Fates. After a startling betrayal ends with both Sera and the dangerously seductive ruler of the Shadowlands she has fallen madly in love with being held captive by the false King of the Gods, there is only one thing that can free Nyktos and prevent the forces of the Shadowlands from invading Dalos and igniting a War of Primals.Convincing Kolis won't be easy, though - not even with a lifetime of training. While his most favored Revenant is insistent that she is nothing more than a lie, Kolis's erratic nature and twisted sense of honor leave her shaken to the core, and nothing could've prepared her for the cruelty of his Court or the shocking truths revealed. The revelations not only upend what she has understood about her duty and the very creation of the realms but also draw into question exactly what the true threat is. However, surviving Kolis is only one part of the battle. The Ascension is upon her, and Sera is out of time. But Nyktos will do anything to keep Sera alive and give her the life she deserves. He'll even risk the utter destruction of the realms, and that's exactly what will happen if he doesn't Ascend as the Primal of Life. Yet despite his desperate determination, their destinies may be out of their hands. But there is that foreseen unexpected thread-the unpredictable, unknown, and unwritten. The only thing more powerful than the Fates...

"A summary of A Fire in the Flesh:<br/><br/><br/>Ash trying to get Sera back from Kolis..<br/><br/>Sera: stop fighting!<br/><br/>Kolis: *incapacitates Ash*<br/><br/>Sera gets stuck with Kolis the majority of the book and becomes more emotionally damaged while trying to pacify him to buy her time to get Ash free.<br/><br/>Sotoria has red hair"
"First, I have read so many books in the fantasy genre that by the time this one came out, I was burnt out and taking a break from reading. The problem is, there wasn’t enough backstory in this for me to even recall where the last left off. As a result, I struggled to get back into this series and what I do recall is loving Nyktos to no end. I just didn’t feel the same spark and I think it’s because it was all just trauma after trauma for Sera that I literally thought, what. The. F!? Is this ever going to move on? Not enough Nyktos in this story for me. Too much Koloa and Sera. The last few chapters made the book or I would’ve only given it 2.5 stars. I will say, the last few chapters I was ugly crying and used a half box of tissues. So that section gets 5 stars. Now hopefully I will remember enough of this storyline by the time the next comes out to stay engaged for the ending. Do people keep cheat sheets on these series books, that take a year to come out with the next, to recall what happened last? "

"This is the 3rd book in the series continuing Sera’s concern of Ascension and possible death is sidelined by being captured by Nyktos evil false king and Uncle Coo coo for coco puffs Kolis. <br/><br/>Sera is somewhat safe as long as he believes she is his long lost love reincarnated that he has been searching for centuries. The woman whose soul resides within her rather than Sera being her reincarnation. That would go over as well as a fart in church.<br/><br/>Sera is more concerned about Nyktos since he was captured and held prisoner someplace by the king. She has a few enemies within Kolis’ camp that want to out her and are hoping for a slow agonizing death for her. One thing that has happened a few times were vivid dreams of Nyktos which gave her motivation to get free. She just needs to stop ******* off Kolis and with her “no stop sign” mouth, it’s difficult.<br/><br/>Too many enemies are against them and the few that claim to be loyal have stabbed them in the back. Sera needs to get out of her magical cage of bones and free her husband before her time runs out. <br/><br/>I enjoy the light hearted teasing by some of the characters throughout this series. My only complaint is that Sera will go on internal monologue rants which tends to drag on. Some are important giving bits of information of this storyline, but it’s still a bit excessive. These books are LONG so I’m not getting through them as quickly than the books I’ve been reading since spring of last year. Regardless, I am enjoying this prequel to From Blood and Ash. I just might read that series again once this is done since I will have all the back story."
"Love. The most powerful emotion and feeling of all. This book absolutely shows that. I'm at a loss for words with this review for A Fire In The Flesh. Jennifer Armentrout has done it again. Captivating villians, heartwarming MMC, that makes you feel ALL the feels, this book was simply fantastic from start to finish. It's easily a 5 star review. I can't wait to read the 4th book of this series!"

"Didn’t realize I was so emotional invested until I started crying like a baby towards the end. In this book we are facing Kolis and Sera and on top of all that the embers are dying. I love the characters in this series. The strength and structure to Sera."

"<b>“And I will. I will ruin the realms if I lose you. If you die, there is no hope for them—any of them…innocent or evil, god or mortal. I will destroy them all.”</b><br/><br/>When I say that Sera and Nyktos are my faves I mean that with everything in me. I love these characters and the world so so much. Sera is my favorite female character, I love that this book focused on her and how she used what she had access to, to get answers and figure **** out. I know that some people may be annoyed with the amount of Nyktos that we got but I loved it. I felt his absence at times but there were also reminders that this story at its core is a love story and that doesn’t change when the characters aren’t physically together. <br/><br/>I’m going to ramble a lot but I think this book was so necessary to the greater fbaa world. Jla saw everyone complaining about there not being enough understandable lore, world-building, and intricacies of this universe and said here damn I’m going to give you this book lol. Everything makes sense to me this whole book was many lightbulb moments of me going oh that’s why that happened in the fbaa series, that’s why they believe this, this is how this was created and this is how we may be able to fix this. There are so many possibilities and theories running through my head. I’m going to have to reread the fbaa series now that I know the truth and facts because I have so many thoughts of what could happen in the primal of blood and bones. <br/><br/>Some of the characters I hated before reading this I don’t hate anymore, yes they’re horrible but they’re complex, funny, and have layers so I now only dislike them lol. I really like the Sotoria plot, it’s huge I wasn’t sure about it in the last book but now I am. Sera baby, there’s a reason you are very emotional bless your heart you may not know yet, but I do"
