When the gods come calling, you don't get to say no. Patrick Collins is three years into a career as a special agent for the Supernatural Operations Agency when the gods come calling to collect a soul debt he owes them. An immortal has gone missing in New York City and bodies are showing up in the wake of demon-led ritual killings that Patrick recognizes all too easily from his nightmares. Unable to walk away, Patrick finds himself once again facing off against mercenary magic users belonging to the Dominion Sect. Standing his ground alone has never been a winning option in Patrick's experience, but it's been years since he's had a partner he could trust. Looking for allies in all the wrong places, Patrick discovers the Dominion Sect's next target is the same werewolf the Fates themselves have thrown into his path. Patrick has been inexplicably attracted to the man from their first meeting, but desire has no place in war. That doesn't stop Patrick from wanting what he shouldn't have. Jonothon de Vere is gorgeous, dangerous, and nothing but trouble-to the case, to the fight against every hell, and ultimately, to Patrick's heart and soul. In the end, all debts must be paid, and Patrick can only do what he does best-cheat death. A Ferry of Bones & Gold is a 115k word m/m urban fantasy with a gay romantic subplot and a HFN ending.

"A Ferry of Bones & Gold roped me in from the very beginning. I rarely read urban fantasy. Patrick is an ex-military special agent. Demons are wrecking havoic. There's a hot overprotective werewolf in the mix. I mean, this had the makings of greatness.
This worst hit to me was the insta love. There was also instant sexual attraction and that was fine, but it quickly turned more serious even if the two didn't voice it. Though let's just say the **** was top tier. Oh my goodness, the heat coming off these guys was palpable. And I really loved how the silent and steady Jono got absolutely feral around Patrick until seconds later I would remember that they had just met a few days ago.
So I did enjoy Patrick and Jonos dynamic. Patrick's character was more deep and detailed, but I had a feeling in later books that we would learn more about Jono, too. The side characters were lackluster and didn't hold up the story well. They all needed more depth and background, too, and maybe they will also get that in the coming books.
I think the story took a big nose dive around the halfway mark. The plot talk became repetitive, and the fight scenes were a hassle to get through. Weirdly, all the Greek gods, werewolves, and vampires were mishmashed together, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. While we are on the subject of the Gods, it didn't seem fair to me that some could interfere while others could not. There was really no rhyme or reason to it.
While I liked aspects of this book, I dont think I will be continuing."
"A fantastic urban fantasy that pulls from several different myths and legends. The writing is often 🌶️🌶️🌶️ spicy, but it's some of the best LGBTQ spice I've read recently. The series is comparable to the Iron Druid series; a man with a high level of supernatural skill owes a lot of favors to a lot of gods from many pantheons... just much, much more gay. #lgbtq approved ;)"
"Fun story, interesting characters, and a fun romance. "
